Story

Hello! Thank you for visiting our JustGiving Page! We are running the (post-poned) Hackney Half on 26th September to raise money for Netball for All. The money will go towards the construction of a netball court in Lilongwe – a wonderful legacy for our Mum, Belinda, who passed away in 2019 from ovarian cancer. For more information about Netball for All - please visit our facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/NetballForAll

We're thrilled to have a big team running at the event to raise as much money as we can - thanks to Sarah B, Sarah C, Jess, Natanya, Molly, Duncan, Gavin, Alistair, Shaun, Campbell and Sam.

Any donations would be gratefully appreciated - or if you are in London on 26th September please come and cheer us on!

Many thanks,

Maddy, Phoebe and Tristan Weller

About Netball for All:

Sport, and netball in particular, played a central role in Belinda’s life as she was growing up. From a young age, she played netball for Morialta Uniting Church (and later Newton Jaguars) - often coached by her mother Gwenda and father Neil - before going on to play at state level in Australia. She had a life-long appreciation for the personal skills and experiences she gained through the game. While living in Edinburgh, Belinda made a number of trips to Malawi with members of the Watson’s Malawi Partnership (WMP), where she realised the empowering potential of netball in the lives of young women. After Belinda passed away in November 2019, her family was inspired to set up Netball for All - an initiative to support girls and young women through education, by providing them with the skills and confidence gained through sport. The family have really enjoyed supporting teams in Malawi, and encouraging more girls and women to play netball.
