Story
About New Life School
Based in Samroeng village, an hour outside of Siem Reap, the school was built almost one year ago with the help of a generous donor who recognised the need for education in this rural village and surrounding areas.
New Life School is in partnership with The School of Joy (based in Siem Reap) and the Home of Love (based in another rural village outside the city). New life school now has 200 students attending on a daily basis for Khmer local language lessons in the morning and english lessons in the afternoon.
Our Missions
Establishing an effective educational establishment in an area where it is the first of its kind is no easy task. Our immediate amd long term goals are as follows:
1. Provide free education to local children that wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to receive it, as well as to supplement those with other forms of educational opportunities. By giving a child the correct education and the opportunity to succeed financially later on in life, the whole family can be lifted out of poverty.
2. Regularly meet with parents of village children to discuss the value of their children receiving an education. Many families consider it a waste of time, and that they are better off earning money for the family on the farm. It is our mission to help them understand why this is not the case, by dealing with them directly.
3. Educate the children on the importance of personal hygiene, something which is otherwise neglected by parents and families in rural Cambodia. To discuss water sanitation, the value of using a toilet with correct waste disposal and teaching them how to brush their teeth as well as providing the tools to do so.
How Can You Help?
There are many ways you can help the children and families of Samroeng village and the surrounding areas, it doesn’t have to cost you a penny.
If you can afford to donate then we have lots of things to spend it on, any amount will be appreciated and will be effectively used. Our current priority is text books for the varying levels of students, these text books will cover English and Mathematics and will be instrumental in establishing an efficient and sensical curriculum that both students and volunteer teachers can follow.
Should you wish to donate to a specific aspect of the project we can also ensure your money will go directly towards that area. The areas have been divided in to Classroom equipment (books, desks, benches etc.), outside development (paving the school playground which is currently sand and dust as well as establishing a vegetable garden where children can learn about small scale vegetabl farming as well as providing food for students), toys and outdoor play equipment (swings, balls and a speaker for hosting village events to engage the community), monthly running costs (electricity, vegetables for students breakfast and a small salary for a breakfast chef). If any of those areas particularly jump out at you as something you would like to help with, please comment alongside your donation.
Your help does not have to be financial. Please speak woth your friends, family, even stop people in the street if you like and spread the word. Of course sharing this story on social media will be of great help to. As well as that, we would love to see you out here so you can see the work for yourself, if you feel ready to volunteer and make a real difference to the lives of some very vulnerable children please do get in touch!

Happy to donate to support the pupils but I feel your description should be more open re the religious nature of your work - which is far more overt on your main site and which I DO NOT support.
