I've raised £20000 to Purchase a specialised motorised wheelchair AND communication equipment for David Collings who suffered a serious brain stem stroke

At Christmas 2016 my dad, David Collings, suffered a brain stem stroke. The stroke left him with Locked in Syndrome which means he is unable to move or communicate through speech. With intensive rehabilitation there is hope for David to regain some movement again.
At only 59 years when the stroke hit, this came as a shock to all of us - David's wife Carole, mother Eileen & father Brian, his children George (that's me), and my sister Abi and big bro Tim. David is also one of four - Alan, Paul and Julie - we're a big family!
David was an incredibly active man and he took on many famous "man challenges" including the London to Brighton Bike challenge...although he decided to start from Scotland!! He topped that with a cycle around England which took him six weeks averaging up to 80 miles a day. Later David caught the Wild Swimming bug and swam in Salford Quays and Lake Windermere.
All for two charities close to his heart Bluebell Woods Children Hospice and for ME Awareness - his wife Carole is a sufferer. He's raised money for charities but has also been awarded a 100 Platelets donor - a painstaking process. I think you'll agree - an all round amazing guy - but maybe I'm biased!
Now David needs the help of family and friends as the motorised wheelchair he so desperately needs costs £10,000. We're all hoping this wheelchair can give him the taste of the outdoors once again - a place where he always felt at home.
His family are all going to be clubbing together to raise the cash - you might say our own man and woman challenges - and I'll be posting them on this page to highlight everyone's efforts.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any money you can afford. And David also wants to thank you for helping to get him moving again.
The Collings Clan.
