Story

Welcome to the RHPS Parent Council crowdfunding page, you have found the time to click this far so please stay longer and read some more.

We recently asked the children what they would like the funds raised to be spent on. Your children could have asked for a party, a disco or a trip but the children asked for new blinds. Yes you read that correctly, sun blinds.

It is good fortune that many of the classrooms in the school are bathed from morning until late afternoon with lots of natural light. Unfortunately, this comes at a price in that it causes glare and discomfort as it shines into the eyes of the children. This leads the teachers to have to close the blackout blinds plunging the classroom into darkness and means the only form of illumiation is electric light. All day the children are forced to work under this light while all the natural light is shut away.

The pupils of Mrs Bonar's P3 class took their idea one stage further and wrote a lovely letter to the PC asking for funding to purchase new sunblinds for the classrooms.

As you can imagine this is more than just buying an ipad or two, this is a huge investment. We hope you agree this is an issue which affects each and every one of the children at the school as well as the teachers who year in year out constantly battle with the current sunglare/blackout battle.

This is where we throw the children's request out to you the family and friends of the children. They have asked for sunblinds so we are asking you for a small donation, a contribution to this life changing investment. Please help us to make this request from the children come true. Any donation no matter how small will go towards this great cause. Whether its £2, £3 or even £5 with a little help from everyone we can really make this happen.

Many thanks for taking the time to read our request, now please go and find your bank card and make a pledge!
