During these extremely difficult and unprecedented times, the Newcastle Glees Musical Society not only have the task of keeping their society and its community presence alive via 'remote' means but they also have the extensive responsibility of tending to and maintaining the listed building that is their stunning home, the Annesley Hall in Newcastle.

The Newcastle Glees Musical Society's committee have been and continue to work tirelessly in an attempt to secure the financial support required to enable a safe reopening of the doors of the Annesley Hall to all our members, patrons, production teams and our faithful audiences once restrictions permit. Whilst some grant aid is available to assist with the costs associated with implementing safety measures, additional costs such as delivery and installation charges plus VAT have to be self funded.

Furthermore, due to past, present and possible future Covid-19 restrictions, the Annesley Hall cannot generate the income it would have done by way of renting out the hall to dance/ballet classes, examinations, group/club meetings, weddings and civil ceremonies etc. Despite this, its extensive running costs of maintenance, insurance, rates to name but a few remain ongoing regardless.

Therefore, some of the Newcastle Glees Musical Society members are taking to the roads for a 'Fitness February 5k a day Fundraiser' in a bid to generate crucial funding required to help maintain & safeguard the Annesley Hall, the home of the Newcastle Glees Musical Society
