Weʼre raising £100,000 to make essential building repairs
- Halesworth, Suffolk, UK
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
In 2020 it will be 20 years since a semi-derelict maltings building in Halesworth was bought by a small group of creative community activists and began its transformation into The Cut Arts Centre that we have today. Those 20 years have seen many wonderful productions, events and shows, as well as an increasingly full programme of community-led arts and educational activities. We are proud of what has been achieved but are also aware that after 20 years the building and its facilities are in much need of repair and improvement in order to serve the increasing expectations of 21st Century audiences, participants and performers in an ever more competitive world.
As an urban sized arts centre serving a rural population, our regular income is enough to survive but remains insufficient to provide the additional income needed to carry through our ambitious ‘2020 Vision’ to take us through the next 20 years. We need you – our friends, users, audiences and community partners – to help us achieve a funding target of £100,000. We’ve already started some of this work and you will all be witness to the small and large improvements that are beginning to take shape around the building.
On Friday 7th June we will formally launch our ‘2020 Vision’ Appeal at a special evening in The Cut. You are invited for drinks (includes free wine tasting!) and nibbles, information and ideas, film of how we started and how far we have come, plus live music to entertain and enthuse! Doors open at 7pm / formal launch at 7.40pm. See you there!

New Cut Arts
Halesworth, Suffolk, UK
The Cut has been the home for the arts in Halesworth for the last 20 years. That is two decades of providing the local community with a centre for entertainment, performance, music, art exhibitions and film or simply a good space to talk and chat.
