I'm raising £2000 to New Forest Water Watch: Protect our health and local streams

Story

New Forest Water Watch is a local volunteer group set up by New Forest Friends of the Earth. We monitor the health of streams and rivers in and around Lymington and the New Forest. At times, extremely high and potentially harmful E. coli levels have been recorded in the Lymington River, underlining why careful, independent monitoring is so important for protecting public health and understanding local water quality. Volunteers are trained to carry out careful sampling from riverbanks and bridges using recognised methods and appropriate safety procedures. We are currently expanding our work and providing monitoring kits to small local groups so more areas can be covered consistently. Donations will help fund essential public liability insurance, water testing kits, safety equipment, and basic running costs. This is a community-led, practical project focused on observation, evidence, and responsible environmental stewardship. Every contribution, large or small, helps us continue monitoring and protecting the rivers and streams that matter to our local community.
