Story

🏛️ My Mayoral Year of Fundraising

As Mayor of Newhaven, I want my year in office to make a real and lasting difference to the people who call our town home. Throughout the year, I’ll be taking on a series of fundraising events, challenges and community activities — all to raise money for my two Mayoral charities: Homeless in the Havens and The Rainy Day Foundation.

This page will be the central hub for every donation, every event, and every milestone across the whole civic year.

💙 The Charities I’m Supporting

Homeless in the Havens

Homeless in the Havens provides practical, compassionate support to people experiencing homelessness. From food and essentials to advocacy, outreach and pathways into stable accommodation, they are a lifeline for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Your donation helps them continue offering dignity, safety and hope to those who need it most.

The Rainy Day Foundation

The Rainy Day Foundation aims to step in when local families and individuals face sudden hardship — the kind of unexpected crisis that can happen to anyone. Whether it’s emergency essentials, short‑term financial support, or helping people get back on their feet, they provide fast, practical help at the moments when life feels overwhelming.

Your support ensures they can keep responding quickly when local people need a hand.

🏃‍♂️ My Marathon Challenge

One of the biggest challenges I’ll be taking on this year is running a full 26.2‑mile marathon. The early mornings, the long training runs, the aching legs — every step is worth it when it helps support these two incredible local charities.

But the marathon is just one part of a much bigger year of fundraising, and I’ll be sharing updates from every event along the way.

🔍 How the Funds Are Managed

Transparency matters. So here’s how it works:

Donations to this page are being collected by the Mayor of Newhaven directly, transferred to the Town Council and will be distributed in full between the two chosen causes: Homeless in the Havens and The Rainy Day Foundation at the end of my Mayoral year. Full records of all donations and payments will be maintained throughout to ensure complete transparency and accountability.

This ensures every penny goes exactly where it should.

🙏 How You Can Help

Whether you donate, share this page, attend an event, or simply cheer us on, your support means the world. Together, we can raise as much as possible for the charities serving our town — and make this a year of real impact for Newhaven.
