Story

During these difficult times, we are all experiencing challenges that will affect many people’s health, social lives and livelihoods for a long time to come.

As one of the 950+ amateur boxing clubs in England who are run entirely by voluntary coaches, we give up 5 nights every single week to run New Saints Boxing Club as well as taking our competing boxers all over the country. We do this for the benefit of our local community, and our gym is a sanctuary for many people in St Neots and the surrounding area, not just for keeping fit or competing as a boxer but for their mental & emotional well-being, the social interaction with new people, and the values that boxing brings to all ages and backgrounds.

We've managed to keep the club going over the last 5 years mostly through the class fees, by hosting boxing shows and local companies willing to sponsor us. And we've worked hard to get funding where we can to replace and provide more equipment to make the gym what it is today.

There is such a huge level of uncertainty around the impact that COVID-19 will have on our Boxing Club in the longer term, with currently no indication on how long we will be closed, and like so many throughout the country we are likely to still need to cover our on-going costs throughout the coming months, but with no income. That is why we are backing England Boxing's “KO COVID-19” campaign, appealing to members of our local community, those that train with us and local businesses to donate whatever they can to their local boxing club. We know times are hard for everyone but even your weekly class fee would help.

We worked so hard to get this club off the ground back in 2015 help us to reopen the doors in 2020. Thank you
