Story
I have recently donated a few dozen pots of 100% natural beeswax blend hand cream to some of the nurses at Stroud Hospital, but now I've been asked by nurses from a few other wards, as well as from one of our care homes, whether there is any more to donate.
I have heard so many stories about the terrible red-raw hands suffered by nurses and carers at the end of a shift after all that sanitiser and harsh soap, and people who have tried this pure and natural beeswax salve say it can really go a long way in soothing painful skin.
I have a few more small pots to give away but nowhere near enough, and the ingredients aren't really that cheap. I would love to make and distribute as much as is needed or wanted, but as a *very* new start-up I simply can't afford to give away as much as I'd like.
My idea is to try to raise some money to pay for the basic ingredients and make and distribute it at cost price. The amount of hand salves I could give for free to nurses and carers would be multiplied if I had a little help from the local community.
Every penny donated, after JustGiving's admin cost, will be spent on buying 100% natural ingredients and making the hand salves, which I will then distribute to NHS key workers for free.

With the funds raised so far, we’ve been able to make and distribute a total of 563! 🤗 pots of 100% natural hand cream to nurses and carers 🤩 in clinics, surgeries, hospital wards and care homes Nailsworth, Stroud, Dursley and Gloucester 🏃♀️🚴♀️. It is incredible to think that these creams are directly affecting and helping so many individual nurses and carers across the community. 🌈 I won’t be able to do any of this without everyone’s help. 5 years agoMore than 200 more moisturising hand creams packed for delivery today to three local hospitals and two amazing care homes. On Wednesday I delivered almost 200 more. I've received so many messages of thanks, these creams seem not only to be their helping people's hands but also helping to raise morale. 💐🙏 THIS IS ALL THANKS TO YOUR AMAZING DONATIONS 🙏💐 But I am still receiving lots of requests for more. There are so many dry, sore hands out there, I hope we can carry on fundraising for longer. PLEASE DONATE, PLEASE SHARE 🙏🌼🌹💐🌸

5 years agoUPDATE: Having got stuck in and produced 134 pots of cream today, and having much more carefully calculated the costs of production (I've never mass produced before), I have realised that the cost to me per pot is much closer to £2 than the £1.30 I originally thought. As a result I am raising the fundraiser to £1,000 because I really want to fill at least 500 pots of soothing hand cream for our nurses and care workers.
