Story

The NHS Elect team are attempting a 24 hour web-a-thon, delivering educational webinars around the clock for all NHS staff across the UK to raise money for cancer charities in memory of those we have lost.

Why are we doing it?

Last year, our CEO Caroline's beautiful niece, Evie (pictured), was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Despite the heroic efforts of every part of the NHS, the tumour was not to be beaten and Evie died in March. She was just 13, forever 13.

So many of our team have lost loved ones to cancer, and we all wanted to do something that not only raises money for some great charities but also offers something to our wonderful NHS colleagues to thank them for all they do for patients like Evie every day.

When will it take place?

The web-a-thon will start at 2pm on Monday 15th August 2022, which would have been Evie’s 14th birthday. It will run until 2pm on Tuesday 16th.

Who will it help?

The event will benefit three fantastic cancer charities: The Evie Dove Foundation, Pancreatic Cancer UK and Breast Cancer Now.

Sponsoring and donating

We are asking those who attend the web-a-thon to make a small donation if they can afford to. We would be so grateful to receive sponsorship from other people too.
