I've raised £5000 to help fund the installation of defibrillators in biker cafes and accident black spots around the UK.

Plantec Assist are proud to establish a strong partnership with the Nick Brisland Trust. The trust was founded by mum Ria, after her 19-year-old son Nick was sadly killed in a motorbike accident in 2015.
Nick was riding his bike down a long straight, when a resident pulled off their drive forcing him to swerve into oncoming traffic. He was killed instantly. “He was the most comfortable in his own skin I’ve ever known a person to be”, said mum Ria. “If I could bottle what he had and sell it, I’d be a very, very rich person”.
In the face of adversity, Ria reacted in a special manner. Where most would, understandably, let the grief of losing a loved one prevail, she has decided to share Nick’s story and campaign to improve the safety of others.
Now, four years on from Nick’s accident, Ria is raising money to put defibrillators in biker cafes and accident black spots around the UK. Despite the fact a defibrillator would not have saved Nick’s life, Ria is keen to give others the best chance of survival in the unfortunate event of an accident.
Back in October 2018, the first unit was installed at Loomies Moto Cafe in West Meon, Hampshire – a place that Nick regularly rode to. There are plans to have a second defibrillator installed at Portsdown Hill, another of Nick’s favourite destinations.
A single defibrillator costs £1,620 and we aim to provide substantial support in Ria’s pursuit.
“Of all the charities we have worked with over the years, this one is the closest to our hearts. Keeping motorcyclists safe on the road is something all of us at Plantec Assist strive towards – doing so with Ria and her fantastic cause is nothing short of a privilege.”
