Story
5 years ago we lost a very special person. James Bailey was the kind of person that would light up a room as soon as he entered and although he is not here anymore, he will always be in our hearts and minds.
To spread awareness and to raise money for mental health and a memorial bench, myself and Kurt Dingle our going to challenge ourselves to a 24hr challenge where I'm sure we will be taken to some dark places mentally and physically.
We have to decide which parish and speak to a Centenier regards looking for a lovely place to put James's memorial bench, but if this is not possible, all of the proceeds will go to a local charity called L.I.N.C Community.
'LINC community is a mental health support group that meets every week and is led by people who’ve been there too. You’re not alone. We aim to provide a safe and non-judgemental space where people can get together, try out new activities, build confidence and benefit from social support. A place where everyone is welcomed, respected and valued'.
On average, 18 people per day take their own lives in the UK which is truly impossible to comprehend. Given those numbers, we are going to run 1.8km and complete 18 chest to floor burpees every hour on the hour for 24hours on 29th @ 12am.
This will be the equivalent of a marathon and a total of 432 burpees, which is a hell of a lot! I'm sure this challenge will really push us mentally and physically especially with the lack of sleep so any help, tips, guidance, messages of support and donations of any amount will be hugely appreciated and will inject us with the motivation we need to get through.
Thank you so much xox
