Weʼve raised £0 to fund a portable Public Address system for Lytham cricket club. The distances involved are over 200m so a radio based system is required.

    Story

The scorebox at out club is located away from where the spectators watch the match. During the match it would be more enjoyable for both players and spectators if the scorer was able to provide commentary during the match.

As the distances involved are beyond what Bluetooth can currently handle I have put together a radio based system. The system has to be portable so that it can be put away in the evening and also weatherproof to cope with occasional rain. (This is the specification if any others in a similar position are looking to copy.)

    60W Slave Amp £95.00 (x2) £190.00 , 30W Horn Speaker £50.00 (x4) £200.00 , Speaker Stand £24.99 (x2) £49.98 , 100m Speaker Cable £40.00 (x1), Hytera MD615 with Microphone (Transmitter end) £309.00 (x1) , Hytera MD615 with Audio Output (Receiver end) £369.00 (x2) £738.00 , Ofcom radio license (currently a 5 year license is £75.00), 3x 12Vdc battery (£TBD), Peli waterproof portable case (£272). The total cost will be just over £2000, but should last for many years.
