Story
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to take on the Leeds Marathon in a way that’s truly unique — running the full marathon in full ice hockey gear. Helmet, pads, the lot — just swapping skates for trainers. With the weather expected to be seriously hot, this challenge will push me to my absolute limit.
But this journey is about so much more than just the run. I’m raising £1,000 for Leeds Junior Knights Ice Hockey Club — an amazing grassroots club that provides kids with a place to belong, build confidence, and fall in love with a sport that doesn’t get nearly enough support here in the UK.
Ice hockey is fast, exciting, and demanding — yet it remains expensive and underfunded. Many clubs struggle to provide essential training kit and resources that young players need to develop their skills or even just participate safely. This is why your support matters so much.
Every penny raised will go directly towards improving and upgrading training equipment, giving these young athletes the best possible chance to grow — whether they dream of advancing further in ice hockey or simply enjoy being on the ice with their teammates.
Important: Due to an issue with JustGiving, this is my second fundraising page. If you’ve already donated, you should have received a full refund — thank you from the bottom of my heart. If you’re able to support again by re-donating or sharing this cause, it would mean the world.
Running a marathon is tough enough; doing it in full hockey gear under hot conditions will be one of my toughest challenges yet. But none of that compares to how much your support could mean for these kids’ futures.
Please donate if you can, share this story far and wide, and help us keep grassroots ice hockey thriving.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity 🙌
