£3,680raised of £1,000 target by 44 supporters

Weʼve raised £3,680 to raise awareness for 2 amazing charities Cool Earth & HighGround by taking part in the Mongol Rally 2018

    UK - Ulan Ude
Funded on Sunday, 30th September 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

We are two friends taking a year out of education and have decided to challenge ourselves by entering the 2018 Mongol Rally. The Mongol Rally is an annual event in which contestants drive from England to Mongolia unsupported. Our journey will take us through 20 countries and over 10'000 miles including 3 deserts, 3 mountain ranges and 9 separate timezones. Whilst doing this we will be raising awareness for 2 special charities, Cool Earth & HighGround. We would greatly appreciate any small or large donations to reach our goal. Thank you.

The money you donate will be split equally between the two charities. The reason that we have set up a crowdfunding page instead of the usual JustGiving donation page is that this allows us to equally split the money between both amazing charities while also having a central location for sponsorship.

Cool Earth is a very large non-profit organisation, hugely supported by David Attenborough, that works closely with rainforest communities in order to stop deforestation and climate change. CoolEarth puts the future of the rainforests with the people best placed to protect it. This means that by saving the rainforests it is also providing employment to local communities. Cool Earth's largest operations are in Peru, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Papua New Guinea. As of yet Cool Earth has saved over 900,000 acres of rainforest.

HighGround is a great UK charity that provides land-based opportunities and employment for all ex-military personnel and reservists. HighGround knows the skills that ex servicemen learnt in the military and knows how best to adapt and convert these in order to gain employment in the rural sector. HighGround offers advice and support about training and qualifications. Introductions for work experience, volunteering, employment and self employment in the UK and abroad.
