I've raised £2000 to help Dan by running from London to Brighton

A couple of months ago one of my very best friends, Dan, was dealt the harshest news, a terminal brain tumour diagnosis. Since then he has undergone surgery and radiotherapy and is waiting on confirmation of chemotherapy. By all accounts the NHS have been amazing and are doing all they can but Dan, his wife Laura and their close family are looking at alternative treatments and therapies that will help with symptoms, make life easier and hopefully get Dan extra time with them all, especially Laura and their 9 month old son Francis.
Dan is the kindest soul I know, always smiling and always there whenever I've needed him (I've known him since school). His work as a barrister in family law is truly inspiring, as is his constantly adventurous and positive take on life. Over the years my wife and I have spent many lovely days with him and Laura and more recently our time together has grown to include our daughter Olive and their son Francis. I'll never be able to do enough to repay Dan for being such an excellent part of our lives, but if by running to my absolute limit (and beyond) I can help even a little bit during this most difficult of times then it's got to be done.
The run is planned for Saturday 4th December 2021 and will start at Dan's Inns of Court, Middle Temple, on the Victoria Embankment and meander down through Greater London, into Surrey, West Sussex and East Sussex, hopefully ending back home in Brighton after about 56 miles. I'll have the much needed and appreciated assistance of a few runners along with me to help out during some sections; my brothers Alex and Greg plus friends Anthony and Ben. The aim is very much to complete the whole thing within a day but due to limited training this isn't a given, however I'll be giving it absolutely everything I have!
Immunotherapy is one possible option for Dan but requires significant funds. Any money raised may help to make this possible but will also go to assist with day-to-day extra help and making whatever time Dan has left as happy as it can be. Anything left over will be split between a university trust for his son Francis and a charitable donation to a brain cancer charity.
Thank you so much for anything you can give, it means the world.
