Battlefield Primary School Playground needs your help!

In its current state it is more of a concrete jungle than a playground with little provision made for outdoor play. We want to change that. We need to change that!

The school are not in a position to develop the playground and are facing cuts.

The pupils of Battlefield Primary deserve a playground that they can thrive in. Testimony from other schools who have developed their outdoor play areas supports the theory that improving outdoor play facilities improves attendance, behaviour and learning in the classroom.

Following consultation with schools who have recently installed new play equipment, we have a phased development proposal. Phase 1 would include:

1. installing a 'Trim Trail' -this will provide an activity for many children at the same time

2. installing a 'loose parts play area' & developing a quiet seating zone

What we can achieve will depend on what we can raise.

Our phase 1 target is £30,000.

The Pupil Council have asked us for help. The Parent Council have made a commitment to them.

But we also need your help.

To raise funds, Nick and Darren will run 500km in the month of January. That's 12 marathons or 16km per day, every day.

The pupils and the playground urgently need your sponsorship money to support this cause. Anything you can spare would be welcome and if you can be generous, even better!
