Story
I am a Veterinary nurse in the UK but originally from South Africa where I worked in Wildlife conservation and veterinary care for the community veterinary clinic where we supported the underprivileged community and their animals. I previously lived in Botswana, where I was heavily involved with veterinary care for domestic animals and wildlife in our small community. I am passionate about animal welfare where i help to raise funds and donation for animal charities across countries, which I am involved with in my present position working as a veterinary nurse.
In March 2025, I will be volunteering as a Veterinary Nurse in Maun, Botswana, including South Africa, on a sponsorship program supported by my present employee company. I will be volunteering for a few weeks by offering my time where I can share my knowledge and experience and passion for helping those animals in need.
Maun animal welfare, (MAW’s), a non-profit organisation, promoting the alleviation of animal suffering through education initiatives, encouraging responsible domestic animal ownership, providing veterinary care spay/neutering programmes and general animal health care to the low income and vulnerable population of Botswana. MAW’s Undertake mobile outreach clinics to rural villages surrounding the Okavango Delta River and beyond. Providing sterilisation and vaccination of dogs and cats to reduce the disease risk posed to wildlife and the human population. There work also includes wildlife care where necessary. https://maunanimalwelfare.com/
MAW’s rely on volunteer veterinary staff and donations of veterinary medicines and equipment. My fundraising will allow me to assist towards purchasing important veterinary supplies and equipment to support the ongoing veterinary care for these animals and support my trip to volunteer.
I would greatly appreciate any donations to help support my time at Maun Animal Welfare.
