Story

Nick Hilton is a courageous young man who will have is life tragically cut short. This is his very short story.

Nick was a healthy young man who recently moved to Wales to be with his long term girlfriend of 4 years. They have had a long term relationship and is one of the few people that could keep such a long distance relationship going for so long. He started to get headaches and took pain killers but was well within himself. Over the next few weeks the headaches became more consistent and despite going to the doctors was told it was only migraines and to take pain killers.

This was Nick on 1st September visiting his family with his girlfriend. Despite still suffering with the headaches he soldiered on and tried to live life to the fullest. Over the next 2 weeks his health deteriorated

Despite various trips to A&E, ambulance call outs and 7 doctor surgery visits he was always diagnosed with migraines until 1 doctor finally saw how ill he was and sent him to hospital for a MRI scan. On Wednesday 20th September our family was told the tragic news that Nick has a Brain Tumour and it was serious. Within 5 minutes of being told Nick suffered 2 seizers within an hour and the medical staff managed to save him and he regained consciousness to carry on his fight.

Nick was transferred to St Georges Hospital where he meet with the Doctors who gave nick the sad news that there was nothing they could do for him as the tumour is too big and deep within his brain. (Think of a tennis ball inside your brain).

We have been told he has 6 to 12 weeks (weeks or months) remaining with us and any longer will be greatly appreciated by all of us provided he is not suffering and is comfortable. We are still in the process of getting a 2nd and 3rd opinion for treatment options but the outlook does not look good.

Nick has been transferred back to Frimley Hospital where as a family we are with him 24 hours a day to support him and to make him comfortable. Nicks final wishes are to go back home and to go on a family holiday to Great Yarmouth. Whilst a holiday is most likely not going to be able to happen as he is not well enough as Nick now needs 24 hour a day care. We as a family want to support and be there for Nick and support his wish of coming home to be around his family in his remaining days and are working with the hospital to arrange for this to happen.

What we are asking for.

Nick's family wish to be able to support him, care for him and provide him with whatever he needs to make him comfortable. Your money will help his dad to take time off work to be there for his son and to ease his financial burdens whilst he is not working and to provide whatever equipment Nick needs to be comfortable in his final days and finally the funeral costs when Nick's calling is made and he passes onto a better life.

We thank you for whatever support you can give to our family no matter how small. Even if you can't give yourself a comment of support is more than enough for our family and we all love you Nick
