I'm raising £7,500 for a family emergency.

Our dog, Archie, is currently unwell, and we have exhausted insurance and family funds to cover the costs.

This isn't just about vet bills... our family is facing a bigger issue. For the past 5+years, I (Nicky) have worked with vulnerable families, helping them understand complex legal matters in child protection, safeguarding, family law and domestic abuse. I do this work almost completely unpaid and unrecognised. I frequently sit in court proceedings with people in their darkest moments, knowing I might not get a penny but I do it anyway, believing that people have a right to access justice. That service is 'The Autonomy Hotline', a helpline service that offers advocacy and advice to families in crisis. We have helped over 400 families since we began.

And now, I'm hoping that the community that I have given my life to supporting, might help us meet the income gap that we have missed these past few years, so that we can help support Archie, our beloved puppy. He is only 3years old, and sadly he has had a relapse of an infection. There is a good chance he will pull through due to his young age, but he does need some specialist care. Archie has been a huge support for my husband, when he was facing significant stress and pressure in his job, Archie pulled him through. My husband is a wonderful man and loving father, but the stress of financing Archie's costs is causing concern.
