Story

Chios is a Greek island, situated on the Aegean Sea, just off the coast of Turkey and home, over the last few years,, to 14,000+ refugees from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and other war-torn countries. Currently there are 1,500+ refugees in the camp, with more arriving each week.

Refugees continue to arrive on the island, although the numbers are thankfully less than in previous years,. To see the level of support needed, please click on the link below to see live arrival statistics.

The Chios Eastern Shore Response Team (CESRT) is an organisation that assists refugees when they arrive on the island with basic living supplies, food, shelter, emotional support and medical care. They have also set up a shelter as a safe space for children to have a warm shower, clothes, heathly food and a place to play.

They are a community of volunteers, unpaid, working with the supplies donated and the money received to help provide assistance, which is why this is crowdfunding - I will make sure all donations are given directly to CERST.

I will be flying out there next month to give a helping hand: sorting out the warehouse, helping at the port and working in the children's shelter. It would be great if you can show your support for CERST by making a donation to the organisation, each volunteer pays their own way and ALL the profits go towards helping these refugees.

Thanks so much, your support is really appreciated. When I get back I can tell you exactly how your donation was spent and a little more about life in Chios.
