Story
So I’ve been out of work now just over 12 months due to my health. I have had a diagnosis of a condition called Fibromyalgia. This is a chronic pain and fatigue condition. I have tried recently to go back to work but unfortunately was unable to. I hate the convo have as it is by far making me not the person I was. I am 28 years old used to work full time as a career myself, had a nice car used to have nice things and now I can no longer live this life style due to a dramatic change in my finances and health.
Last year I had to sell my 63 plate seat Ibiza as I could no longer afford to run it. I had purchased the car out right but could not afford the insurance no longer, tax, petrol, and general repairs when needed. I need a car as this is my only little bit of independence I have. I use it to also go to a lot of hospital appointments and physio.
So when I sold my seat Ibiza I purchased a fiat 500 pop 1.2 59 plate. Small little run around, cheap to run insure and tax but 12 months later I’m here again unable to afford repairs on my vehicle. The service light came on last week which led to me having a Fibromyalgia flare up. when I get stressed/ worried it worsens my condition, usually ended up with me unable to do anything. My pain worsens my fatigue worsens, i struggle to get out of bed. And if I do i am usually unable to shower dress and do any “normal” tasks.
I’ve found out my car needs a full service which I know I can not afford let alone the repairs the car needs doing. I’d only had an MOT on it last month which failed so I’m even more so in a financial mess.
I receive minimal help from the government. I get enough to pay my bills as I live on my own and to just about feed myself. I have been declined PIP which is a disability benefit for those who don’t know what this is. I was told there was nothing wrong with me apparently, but my universal credit have me in their disability group which is LCWRA (Limited capability for work related activity)
This is my last resort, to ask for help just to make sure my car is safe to drive so I can have that small bit of independence and to be able to attend my appointments to do with my health.
