He's always been an emotional eater as a lot of people are. he used to be so vital, running his own business, a director in other people's business and having a very successful career only for his health to fail at the final hurdle, the domino came tumbling down.

My Dad has never been in to healthy living and his emotions have always dictated the food that he eats. If he was stressed, he ate, if he was sad he ate, if he was happy he'd celebrate by going out to eat!

When he got his diagnoses, he admits now that he totally underestimated diabetes 2 and never really understood how it would ravage his body, he's living to regret sticking his head in the sand. I think we're all guilty of that at some point.

It's a lot of hard work and that's the reason that he needs the help and guidance to break all of his very bad eating habits. To learn about detox, juicing, eating clean and knowing the correct foods to eat to the correct exercise.

I'm 100% sure that he couldn't do it by himself. He will have to change his lifestyle completely. The biggest challenge will be him beginning to realise that he's worth saving. Along with the difficulties and complications of diabetes he's also suffered with depression which can spiral and make you feel worthless.

Right now my Dad is at the point where he's finding it difficult to walk because of the pain in his legs. this is what has prompted me to do this! I asked his permission and he agreed because deep down he knows its all spiralled out of control and he doesn't know how to get back to the surface.

He's drowning and he doesn't know what to do, he's desperate. My Dad is a very proud man which is one of the reasons he will never accept my help for anything but he's taken the first step now by agreeing to do this with me and accepting other peoples help.

Unfortunately my dad hasn't been able to earn money for the past ten years due to illness and is surviving on his meager pension.

As his daughter all i want for him is health and a little bit of happiness, maybe if he's very lucky to fall in love again in the future but right now, it would be nice if I could just take him out for longer than a hour as he gets sooo tired. We need to get him to the clinic fast.
