When a family member is diagnosed with cancer it creates an emotional shudder throughout the lives of families and having to then watch that person suffer due to financial worries, is even more heartbreaking.

This crowdfunder is for a high school friend, Yvette Barnard.
On 3rd June 2021 she become suddenly paralysed from the waist down after the car she was in hit a ditch in the road. The test results are that Yvette has cancer of the right breast, which has spread to her liver and spinal cord. The tumor is pressing on her nerves causing the paralysis.

If you don't know, you always need to pay for any and all medical services you receive in South Africa. Unlike in the UK where we are blessed with our NHS.

Yvette is living with her mom, Nettie in Bloemfontein, South Africa, does not have medical aid cover, and has never needed it as she's always been fit and healthy plus due to her employment status couldn't afford the insurance premiums. Yvette's livelihood was performing with her band Inceptio and at the Barnyard theatre as a stage performer, until this was effected by Covid and now this tragic diagnosis.

All proceeds raised will go towards Yvette's medical services/treatment and hospital visits. The family have been given an estimated cost which totals R800 000 (£40 628) which should cover this.

We would love to however raise
£45 000 which will provide Yvette and her family with enough funds to pay off the medical bills, use towards a mobility scooter and other unexpected costs that might arise.
