Story

Hi Ryan is a 14 year old S14 para swimmer. Ryan was born with a very rare skin disease CMN/NCM which means 80% of his body is covered in moles. These moles are also on ryans spinal cord and brain, located on his temporal lobe and pons. The moles irritate the nerves and messgaing signals in ryans brain and cause him to have difficulties in learning and retaining information. . He struggles daily with a poor working memory and also has ASD to complicate things. Ryan is also at a higher risk of developing melanoma due to the many moles and requires regular MRI scans to check for any changes. Despite all of his problems he loves to swim competativley, and trains 6 times a week with blackpool aquatics swim club.. He would love to represent GB in the world INAS games in brisbane 2019.. In the UK, one of the main barriers to success for young athletes like ryan , is the increasing expense of training and competing at the higher levels within their sport.

As ryans sporting success has increased, so has the yearly financial burden faced by his parents. This is a common obstacle faced by working class families in the UK, who are trying to support a talented child in their chosen sport. Athletes in GB get very little funding and here in the fylde there is no access to any funding as this tends to go to kids from citys. Please please help to send ryan to australia thankyou :-) The money rasied will help pay for flights, accomodation kit and entry fees
