£160raised of £1,000 target by 12 supporters

Weʼve raised £160 to Access Treatment for PTSD for my Mum.. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder as a consequence of Chilhood Abuse.

    Houghton Regis, UK
Funded on Saturday, 7th July 2018

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

PTSD is a very real consequence of child abuse, abuse or trauma at any stage in your life.
Imagine living on your nerves every second of every day - not knowing when your abuser is about to strike.  PTSD is also a common effect of serving in the forces, with the very real threat of conflict and the need to survive.  A terrible condition for all.

My Mum also experiences the following conditions, due to the hurt and trauma that she coped with:

Anxiety, PTSD, Depression, Addiction, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue.

Low self-esteem, poor relationships, lack of confidence and emotional immaturity - are some of the mental effects of abuse.

Recently with the exposure of many high-profile cases, the bravery of other Survivors, with the many years of therapy and personal development - Mum found her power and she spoke out.

Again, yet another hefty, hurdle to her already tremendously hard journey. Who would believe her?  What destruction would it have to the family?  How would it divide opinions and loyalties?

She spoke out, in honour of that little girl within, that little girl deserved justice and protection.

Isn't it true? ......  no-one really knows why people act in certain ways, or do certain things, say certain things........
Until you have walked their shoes.

As a consequance of my Mothers bravery and bringing this case to court. Her PTSD and effects from re-living the trauma over again.. it has become even worse.

He was given a 14 year sentence - my Mums sentence is a lifetime.

I am trying to raise money so that my Mum can receive treatment to help free her from this nightmare. If she can receive the needed treatment it may help to give her a quality of life that free's her a little from the Abuse. We also wish to support other victims of Abuse, but my Mum needs some respite and to rebuild again first.

Your mum's not only an inspiration, thinks she's actually an angel. So upsetting to think of what Lyn has endured bless her, but despite all that is still there caring for others. Some serious wings x

There is a whole heap of fabulous services out there for women who have experienced abuse. However there is a severe lack of support and services to help women after they have gone through the justice system. PTSD a condition that can’t be ignored it won’t just go away 😞
