Story
A few days before Christmas, Dulcie and myself got the most horrendous news possible. Dulcie’s best friend from her theatre group had suffered a stroke, followed by two cardiac arrests, at the age of just 14. She is now in Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in paediatric intensive care. We have been hoping and praying for a full recovery, however, we received the most awful news yesterday that Lexi cannot breathe unaided, therefore needs a tracheotomy. This is a girl who has a love and passion for singing, dancing and her musical shows at the theatre group. This is absolutely devastating news. Her family are having to travel to Cambridge and her mum may have to give up her job, as she has been told she will need to care for Lexi when she comes home, which won’t be for 2-3 months. I appreciate that I send this message at a time when everyone has had the expense of Christmas, but your help however much or little you can give for Lexi and her family at such an awful time would mean so much.
