Story

I have been updating through facebook statuses which i have made public to share the news but i haven't been uodating on here as its all been a bit of a whirlwind! So heres the last few days in a nut shell!

We got more contact on my brothers situation through a third party who told us the house he was in with friends (a sturdy and solid house high up as my brothers own house is on the beach) had been ripped apart by a tornado, the only room left standing was the one they were sheltering in! This news was horrific BUT thankfully we were lucky enough to know he was alive and uninjured!

The area they were in was isolated because of damage to tbe roads and debris blocking the way.

Their friend walked 8 miles over mountainous Tortola to get to their own house where thank god there was a working car.

My brother like many others were working trying to clear roads. He has since managed to get to the town and get in contact. Seeing his name come on my screen made me blub through sheer joy and relief.

He was needing to queue for flights to evacuate.

Today he flew to Puerto Rico 🙌💖🎉

In terms of my brothers safety we have been extremely blessed! But the situation in Tortola remains dire, as is the situstion on many of the islands. Just because I know my brother is safe does not mean my journey is over! I want to help the BVI as much as possible! Many people have been in similar situations to us, some even worse! Thousands of people are homeless. No food, no water. Their whole lives gone and without the luxury of being able to evacuate.

If you have a roof over your head, clean water to drink, food in your belly, clean clothes to put on then you have more than most out there. For that Im sure you can find a spare £5. You can make a huge difference to peoples lives. Will that money change your life? I am willing to guess probably not, definitely not in the same way it will for them!

Thank you in advance you kindness and selflessness!

Most of you will have seen and heard about Hurricane Irma on the news, what you won't have heard much about are the Virgin Islands. There are a group of US virgin islands and a group of British Virgin Islands and these have been very badly hit by the hurricane! My brother lives out there and many of us have had sleepless nights, helplessly watching from afar as Irma moved over islands which are quite frankly normally a paradise! I feel so blessed to have been able to visit many of these islands and see them in all their glory! I inteded (and still do) to go and visit many more of the islands i haveny yet had the pleasure of visiting. Of course the thing at the forefront of everyones minds right now is our loved ones safety and rightly so! I feel so very blessed because a couple of hours ago I was lucky enough to hear my brother is ok. I cant tell you the joy it brought me after many tears, lack of sleep and basically not doing much else but searching the web and social media in the hope of hearing something. As I said I am very lucky to know he is ok as so many people are still waiting for info! I cant sit and do nothing and every part of me wants to jump on a plane and go and help but i cant do that either! What I can do is fund raise! I intend to do as many events as i can to raise more money and if you want to get involved please give me a shout, but we definitely do not need to wait for me to arrange the first event to start raising money! There are thousands upon thousands who need help right now. Pretty much eveytbing is gone, houses, cars, boats, ROADS, businesses! They have nothing! We can all spare a little at least as we have a roof over our head tonight and thats more than can be said for the people on these islands! I have taken some photos from social media but trust me these photos dont do justice for just how bad it is. I am working on getting some before and after photos out to share with You! There are lots of islands, lots of people, they need help, food, shelter so dig deep and please share far and wide to be honest i want to get way over the target i have set so we can really make a difference! And like i said i will be trying to arrange some sponsored events too so keep your eyes peeled and please give what you can now and keep giving each time you see something i have organised and have some money to spare! For now lets get the ball rollong! Dont forget to share!!!! Thanks in advance!
