Hi, my name's Nicole. I'm 17 and my mum is battling cancer. This has been so hard for me, my mum, and our family. I hope the chemotherapy works and shrinks the tumour enough to operate. I'd really love to take my mum away for a short holiday after her chemo to give her a break and for her to know how proud I am of her. I know she can fight this because I know how strong she is. Hi everyone, my best friend and neighbour, Angela Baird, age 54, has just been given the news that nobody ever wants to hear; "Angela, you have cancer, it's a rare, fast growing tumour, called Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. Your chemo is scheduled to commence on Tuesday the 31st of January 2023. You will lose all your hair, lashes, eyebrows and nails, I'm very sorry."
Angela has a beautiful family surrounding her and she provides a loving home for her gorgeous animal-loving daughter, Nicole, age 17. We are starting this fundraiser as a small way to offer help, to give her something to look forward to and to help get her through these next few months of intensive chemotherapy. We hope to raise enough to help send her and her mum, daughter and son on a mini-break close to home. Angela will undergo chemo every 3 weeks, 6 hours at a time, until the end of May, then an M.R.I. scan to see if the tumour has shrunken enough to operate and remove it. Her doctors have been amazing. Angela is a deeply intuitive and spiritual soul and already has the prayers of so many friends at her local, Fernigaire Spiritual Church. Now though, with the effects of the chemo, every day is a battle and she needs everyone's prayers and support, she's far too proud to ask for assistance, so we will.
