Story
Big people running for the little ones
Thank you for accessing our “Just Giving” page.
Our trainers have been bought or dusted off and the training plan has begun……for the “Great North Run 2019” – madness!
We are a team of Consultant neonatologists and Advanced Neonatal Nurse Practitioners from James Cook Neonatal Unit, Middlesbrough. You might know us? Some of us are new to running, some of us haven’t run this distance but we’re having a go. We are prepared to endure a little discomfort (pain, sweat & tears) to raise some money for our Neonatal Unit – can you help?
Recent months have seen our NNU expand and care for a greater number of babies than ever before. We need more resources to provide those “little extras” that help our sick, vulnerable babies and their families. Help us to improve their experience whilst in our care. It might be equipment; it might be resources for families or education for staff. It all helps.
We are doing the Great North Run by choice! Our babies and their families haven’t got a choice if they are born preterm, sick or small. Let’s try together to make it a better experience with your donations.
Watch out for us on TV; come and cheer us on! All your support is fantastic. The trainers are on: we’re running you’re “just giving”….
Thank you.

Training for few months?, professional advice? special diet?None of this, ’IT IS THE SUPPORT OF ALL THE FAMILIES & FRIENDS’ Big thanks to all of you. Soon we will post with an update on the money we raised.
