Story

As many of you know in 2015 we spent 7 weeks in St Peters Hospital NICU with our 29 weeker Emma. During that time we spent in the region of £500 on coffee and treats - our little 'coffee break' was vital to us getting through and keeping focussed, it was 15 minutes that we looked forward to each day.

Since then one of our fellow NICU mummies has set up a 'NICU nibbles' snack station at St Peters, providing parents of the babies with free of charge snacks. We thought this was such a wonderful and thoughtful idea. Such a small thing can make such a huge difference during this incredibly difficult and stressful time.

Following our move it was my intention to bring NICU nibbles to the North! We had an extremely successful 'Bake for Bliss' this year, and pledged half of what we raised to bring the NICU Nibbles project to Scunthorpe General Hospital. This has helped with the initial set up, but now our focus is keeping the fund topped up, so we can continue providing treats to the NICU parents. While we have a few local fundraising plans up our sleeve we are hoping this page will be shared far and wide among friends and relatives, every small donation helps.

So often NICU fundraising is swallowed up in to the hospital charitable funds, perhaps not to be seen for many years, until there is enough to buy a piece of extremely expensive equipment. Our little project will ensure that life is made slightly easier for the parents too - who are going through their absolute worst nightmare, trying to get through each day in one piece.

Please help! And share. As I said, every donation, no matter how small, will help keep this project going.

With many thanks,

Michelle, Dave, Louise (Auntie Woo) & Emma xxx
