Story
On the 20th of November 2017, myself and Aishia’s lives were changed drastically when our son, Elijah John Davis, decided to enter this world 13 weeks early weighing only 2.2lbs. Aishia knew something was wrong around 2am on the day he was born and luckily we went to the hospital. After a few hours of being monitored by midwifes, a Surgeon rushed in and made the call to take he for an emergency caesarean, her placenta had ruptured and the Surgeon had made the right decision. We were only just at the 6 month of our pregnancy and this wasn’t what we had expected when we went to the hospital.
Both myself and partner (Aishia Loxley) spent 3 months living at Southmead Hospital whilst he was in the care of the amazing staff of the Midwifes, Surgeon and NICU staff members he would not be with us today.
So that I can repay the tremendous support and work that was done for me and my family, I have set this page up in order to raise money for Southmead Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). I’ve had to set up as a crowdfunding page as NICU Southmead do not have a direct charity link and are fully aware of this page (which should also be linked on their Facebook page).
I have registered to take part in a full Tough Mudder at Badminton Estate on the 18th of August 2018. Many of you will be familiar with what this event is, it will be 10-12 miles with 20+ obstacles. I thought it would be harder than running a half marathon, jumping out of a plane or abseiling down a 300ft Gorge. However this is small in comparison to the efforts that the team at Southmead put in day to day.
I hope you can support me in my quest to raise as much as possible for this fantastic group of people who change lives daily.

6 years agoHi all just to update that I completed this on Saturday 18th. It was worse than I thought it would be and I wanted to give up at mile 6 after the ice baths and electric shocks, however, we carried on and completed the course in a reasonable 2:50 minutes as a team!
