Story
Sindh Tech Skill Development Centre is a low-cost educational institute that was established in 2016 in the area of Khadda in Lyari. Since its establishment, Sindh Tech has been providing a safe space for the youth from across Lyari and neighbouring areas to develop their skills in a variety of fields including IT, language, beautician training, and sewing. We also host special events, guest speakers and specialised courses from time to time. Our centre is run on a no-profit, no-loss basis, which means we charge minimal fees from our students (between 300 and 500 rupees a month per course or between $3 and $5). If students cannot afford this, we waive their fees.
The donations we collect every year during the month of Ramzan help us cover those students who cannot afford to pay and also help us with administrative costs (like paying for diesel for the generator and building and equipment maintenance). The support we have received from friends and well-wishers like you have helped our institute grow and become established as a safe haven and a place of learning in the area. We are hopeful that with the support of friends like you we will continue to be able to provide low cost, high quality skills development and a safe and healthy environment to the youth of Lyari.
