We are restoring a bass drum, as a commemoration of the life of Nigel Shipway, percussionist and great friend of the Royal Tunbridge Wells Symphony Orchestra. Nigel‘s presence will be a permanent feature of our concerts once we have restored this wonderful instrument they way he had planned!

Thank you for such a fitting way to remember my brother.He loved being part of the orchestra. Nigel would have been delighted that the drum was being restored the way he wanted it done!

What a wonderful way to remember Nigel, whom I've known since my student days. He was a larger than life character (in all ways), always cheerful and kind and a great percussionist.
