Story
A few years ago I was forced to approach my local council, my Landlord refused to make repairs to my home. As the council were involved the landlord pursued court proceedings, the council agreed to help, I was now being evicted for rent arrears, but he was only being paid in arrears which the council agreed upon and would help me fight the case. On the day of the hearing I was assigned a new case worker who told the court the landlord was correct and should keep my deposit although the rent account was cleared on my departure.
At this point my father had passed away 4 months prior and i was very aneamic with me being pregnant with my baby girl. The eviction happened in September my daughter was 1 month, the council put me in emergency accommodation in a different area which was a 3 hour train journey to my son's school. My daily commute started at 5am and ended at 7-8pm with my new born in a carrier because early mornings wouldn't permit space for a pushchair. Walking the street daily waiting for the school day to end as I couldn't make it home and back in time to collect my son.
I thought this was normal and I was grateful, this was life until a child at my son's school informed a worker of the situation, she immediately made contact and told me something wasn't right.
Having been contacted, the council moved us closer, to a mouse riddled house where, they would climb on to my bed at night and run riot in the children's room.
At this point I still hadnt grieved my father's death. They moved me again, after which I was offered my flat, the distress lead to depression and isolation whilst there and subsequently losing my home, because due to my depression I made awful choices, that seemed rational at the time. I fought for a year but because I didn't tell anyone how I was feeling, it was deemed as intentionally homesless, since then we have slept rough and found friends floors to sleep on, we need a home but struggling to find money for the deposit. Please help
