My sister had major surgery whilst on holiday in turkey. 3 days into the holiday she had severe andominal pain when admitted to hospital they found a 50 cm 10kg mass that filled her whole abdomen which had pushed her lung up causing a 9cm pleural effusion. emergency surgery was required and a stay in intensive care followed. The cost of this terrifying experience abroad cost 18.000 which her insurers would not pay out.
