Story
I'm raising £1,000 to say thank to the school for all their support of my daughter.
Sooooo…
A £1 for a lb?
In the last 9 months, I have put on a lot of weight.
It is hard to get going, clothes are starting to shrink and I seem to have developed two kneecaps — on each leg! 🦵😂
For those who know me, you know that living with CFS and Fibromyalgia means my daily life is a constant balancing act of pacing and pain.
Walking is no fun anymore 😢 but I still try keep going 💪
Especially occasional soulful walks up Rivington to the Pike and an annual outing camping 🏕️ in the Lakes. The latter is so hard to do but weirdly so restorative energywise — it makes no rational sense!
Because of my health, limited mobility and complex relationship with sugar*, I have recently put on 22lbs (10kg) and weighed in at 76.9 kilos this morning.
It would be very easy to flump out and stay hidden away, but instead, I’ve decided to do something public, accountable, and meaningful.
This year long gentle, paced weight-loss fundraiser to shed these 22lbs is for my own health and to raise funds for St Joseph’s Parents and Teachers Association.
There is one teacher at that school who is amazing and epitomises the true meaning of teaching imho.
Thanks for reading and any future support,
Nikki 🤓
* PS If you do see me in the local Coop eye-up a family sized Cadbury Caramel please feel free to re-direct me from the chocolate aisle to the fruit and veg section. My body craves sugar when stressed to try and get going again even though I can’t really get going these days. Stuck in second gear! It’s a vicious circle I am trying to change into a virtuous one ⭕️ I hope it works 🤞
