Story

My name is Nil and I am currently 16 years old, in my first year of A-Levels.

I will soon be going on an expedition to Tanzania with my college in the summer of 2018. Poverty is widespread in rural Tanzania; many don't have access to clean drinking water, healthcare and education. Much of what we will be doing focuses on improving the quality of life for local communities.

It is more rewarding to watch money change the world than to watch it accumulate. – Gloria Steinem

We would be involved in low-level building, making school furniture, painting classrooms and constructing water tanks. There are lots of environmental and wildlife conservation projects to get involved in too, helping to restore and protect some of Tanzania’s most vulnerable habitats and animals. You can find out more about the expedition at the official Camps International website: http://campsinternational.com/school-expeditions/

Some of the funds will go directly into the local community for project development and the local economy while the rest will help to cover the costs of transport, equipment, emergency support, accommodation and food.

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. – Winston Churchill

Your donations would contribute greatly and without you my trip would not be possible and I know you will find it in your heart to contribute to the wider society around us and this is the perfect opportunity.
