Story
'The Charterhouse Chickens' is our name and selling eggs is our game : this year we have launched an exclusive, unprecedented club at Charterhouse School. Our aim within the next few months is to establish a top quality brood featuring an exotic range of chickens and a state of the art chicken coop. Our ethos combines engagement with the outdoors and entrepreneurial flare.
We are currently in the process of raising money to purchase our chickens, high quality grains and feeds and the 'Eglu Cube Chicken Coop'. We have a lot of foxes to worry about so we need the security of a walk in run. Various sponsored events and donut sales should get us half the way there.
We would hugely appreciate any donations small and large to help us get our club off the ground. Our pledge to you is that all our work is environmentally friendly, sustainable and free range.
The Next Stage.
Whilst Chickens are currently our main concern, our aspirations for later on in the year is to start a bee keeping club. In April, along side with the Guilford Bee Keeping Association, we are going to set up a collection of hives in the school grounds. If all goes well, we will be producing pots of honey for our extended community as well as boxes of eggs under the name of 'The Charterhouse Chickens' and 'The Charterhouse Bees'. If you are interested in what we are doing, please get in touch. We are open to all advice and help that you may be able to offer!
