Story
I am running the Liverpool half marathon this year and looking for support to raise some much-needed funds for Action Against Hunger, a charity that I and my family support through our restaurant, Cucina di Vincenzo. My dad trekked in Ethiopia last year and helped to raise much needed funds for projects within that region and will be trekking again in April this year in Nepal, where he and 15 other restaurateurs from Merseyside will complete the Langtang Mountains Trek for Action Against Hunger from 24th April to 4th May. This stunning but tough trek through the Langtang region of the Himalayas, close to the Tibetan border, will take 5 days to complete, with an average of 6-7 hours trekking a day, achieving altitudes of 4300m. Langtang has recently re-opened for trekking following extensive damage to its communities and infrastructure during the 2015 earthquakes. My sister Gabriella and I, intend to double the amount I can raise running in this event, by matching the amount raised through family and friends. All proceeds will go towards supporting our dad Vince in his endeavours. Thank you in advance for your support and generosity.
