Story

Lucy, a friend of mine is well on her way to raising £80,000 to live her dream of walking again. When she was 18 she was struck down with a condition called spinal Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM), a rare condition that meant she had an abnormal tangle of blood vessels on her spinal cord. After a lot of operations, it was removed but the damage had already been done. she was paralysed from the waist down. doctors told her it was unlikely that she would ever walk again.

Last year Lucy started her quest to walk again, with the help of some amazing technology. It’s called the the ReWalk exoskeleton. It means that what we take for granted every day will again be a possibility for Lucy.

Lucy’s sheer determination and ingenuity has helped her raise £50,000 in the past six months and I’d very much like to help her along that journey for the remaining £30,000.

I have decided to do it in crazy style by joining Lucy on an Abseil down Spinnaker Tower on the 23rd March 2019. That is an abseil down a whopping 170 meters of tower!
