Story

Nixon Taylor Hansford was born on 28th April 2013 in Jersey General Hospital. He was full term when he was born but it became clear something was wrong. He was taken to SCBU as doctors believed he had fluid on his lungs. After a few hours he was ventilated and rushed by air ambulance to Southampton's Princess Ann's Hospital Neo-Natal unit for specialist care.Nixon was born with diaphragm palsy on his right side, talipes (clubfoot) and very low muscle tone.Nixon has undergone operations to insert a feeding tube directly into his stomach (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) corrective surgery for his feet, a muscle biopsy from his thigh to obtain a diagnosis, an attempt to fix his diaphragm and finally a tracheotomy. He was ventilated through his trachea 24 hours a day but now he only requires ventilation at night, He also has had surgery to remove the tracheostomy and close the remaining hole in his throat, he does however remain tube fed through his stomach. To date no diagnosis has been made and his life expectancy is unknown. In November 2013 the results of Nixon's muscle biopsy came back as abnormal but with no diagnosis. The family have gone through genetic testing via Southampton General and the hundred thousand genomes project with a hope that a diagnosis will be found or at the very least that the testing can help any other families with similar circumstances.

Nixon lived for his first 6 months in Southampton General Hospital and then was transferred to Jersey General Hospital where he stayed for a further 6 months before he was able to return home.

Nixon has a huge love for Wrestling in particular the WWE.

He was fortunate enough to go to the Uk in May 2017 through Make a Wish to see the WWE at the 02 arena however he became very ill and had to go to St Thomas Hospital, it was evident very quickly that he was very ill and he had to be intubated and was transferred to Southampton general Hospital where he stayed for three weeks before becoming strong enough to return home to Jersey

This Crowd fund will enable the family to take Nixon back to London and see both the Raw and Smackdown shows at the 02 and also give him VIP treatment on one of the nights as those tickets are very expensive. They are for may the 14th and 15th 2018.

It will also cover flight costs, taxis, food, hotel accommodation(which is just over the road from St Thomas Hospital as a precautionary measure)

Please help make this little boys dream come true so that he can enjoy it the way he was meant to the first time.

This is separate to the Trust who provide funding for medical needs
