Story
Medical Aid Ukraine is supporting the Ukrainian Medical Association UK (Part of British-Ukrainian Aid) in their emergency response to the current situation. I am lecturer at Norwich Medical School working with Medical Aid Ukraine to assist them with the logistics of fundraising, procuring and delivering battlefield first aid kits to where they are most urgently required.
Each of these kits contain
2 x Israeli Bandages 6", Celox Gauze/QuikClot Gauze, CAT Tourniquet, Halo Chest Seal, Nasopharyngeal airway or Oropharyngeal airways, Scissors, Nitrile Gloves, Thermal Blanket, Pouch.
The Ukrainian Ministry for Health has requested a minimum of 40,000 of these as the most urgent donations from Medical Aid for Ukraine at present. They are to be distributed through the UA Ministry of Health to field hospitals, Ukrainian hospitals, as well as anyone else who needs access to them. Currently they are costing around £100 each to put together. It would be amazing if Norwich Medical School and the wider UEA community could raise £4,000 which would allow us to send another 40 of these battlefield first aid kits. As we are able to buy more the price is likely to come down.
In the past few days I have received the offer of support and incredibly generous donation from a group of private UK pilots who are able to fly these emergency kits to our warehouse on the Ukrainian border and we will be sending our first 700 packs within the next week.
Thank you in advance for your support,
