Story

On the 25th of October 2018 our son Noah (born 5th June 2018) was diagnosed with severe plagiocephaly. He has a 25mm asymmetry between the left hand side of his skull and the right hand side. The left hand side of his forehead is much more pronounced and his left ear is much further forward than his right ear.

Unfortunately the NHS don't consider this type of treatment to be essential as they class it as purely cosmetic, even though he is classed as having severe plagiocephaly, because it does not effect the brain development they do not justify the cost of treatment for Noah.

Obviously we want the best for Noah and we want to treat it so he has the best possible outcome, the window for treating the condition is small and if you do not treat it by 14 months then you are unable to treat it at all due to the bones becoming more solid. Ultimately we'd like Noah to have a nice 'normal' symmetrical head.

We have approached technology in motion and they have done the necessary test and scans and confirm that he is a good fit for treatment. They cannot guarantee complete success but they say with treatment now he should get back into the mild category, which would be good long term prognosis.

Some more information about the condition and treatment can be found on the link below and the total cost including the creation of the custom helmet and all subsequent appointments/consultations is £2025.
