Story
My name is Noah and I am five years old. I was born very early at only 30 weeks gestation and because I was so premature I spent many days in intensive care and then many weeks in an incubator. I didn't get to sleep at home with my mummy and daddy until eight weeks after I was born.
During my birth I sustained damage to my brain and as a result I have severe grade IV cerebral palsy which affects both my legs and arms. I cannot walk or sit unaided, I've had an operation on my hips to stop them from displacing and I have to have physiotherapy every day in order to stop my muscles from contracting. My mummy had to give up work to look after me because I require one to one care.
I have a manual wheelchair from the NHS but I am unable to self propel so I have to rely on someone to push me. I also have a cool Wizzybug which is a small electric wheelchair.
Wizzybug is so much fun because it gives me the independence to go where I want and sometimes to be a bit naughty and run away from mummy and daddy. I also do obstacle courses and play hide and seek with my friends in Wizzybug. Unfortunately I am getting too big for Wizzybug now and she will have to go back to the charity who kindly lent her to me later this year.
Therefore I would absolutely love the next size up paediatric powered wheelchair which is called Tiny Trax. Tiny Trax would allow me all the mobility that I have with Wizzybug and also it will fit in mummy and daddy's car because it is compact and light. The Tiny Trax costs lots and lots of pennies - £6000!!! but it should last me until I am ten years old depending on my weight. Once I've outgrown Tiny Trax I plan on donating it to another child with a similar condition to myself who would also need it to have lots of fun and freedom to play independently with others.
It would be wonderful if you could support me in my dream to buy Tiny Trax with whatever donation you can and if you would like more information about Tiny Trax please look at http://www.tinytrax.com.
My Daddy, James is running Yorkshire 10 Mile in order to help raise funds for my Tiny Trax and to get in training he is participating in York 10k on 6/8/17.

7 years agoWe reached Noah's target yesterday! All we can say is WOW and that we would like to thank every single supporter. You have all made this happen for Noah by your very kind donations. Noah's Tiny Trax is now on order - he has chosen dark blue for the colour! James is still planning on taking part in the Yorkshire 10 mile in October and we are already planning ahead for an all-terrain wheelchair for Noah which should allow us all to be active together as a family. It will allow Noah to do outdoor activities and would cover forest terrain!

7 years agoJames and Noah had an amazing day at York 10k today. James got his personal best at 45.57 and Noah completed the mini race using his kaye Walker and then daddy pushed him in his wheelchair! Both boys are now fast asleep and it's not even 9.30pm - ha ha!! Xx

As Noah's mummy I think it's important that we allow all children equipment that does not just satisfy a "need" but also improves their quality of life. A manual wheelchair ticks the need box but not the having so much fun with my friends box. Life is all about the fun box xx
