Muhammad's Story
Nine year old Muhammad Mubashar was a happy child living with his family in the polity of Azad Kasmir. Despite his poor background, as the youngest child, Muhammed thrived in the warmth and love that his family bestowed on him. This happiness was sadly drained away from him a month ago when he was given a diagnosis that would change his life forever.
Whilst walking with his Dad one day, his father, an Imam Masjid, noticed he was not walking straight, and asked him to do so.
‘I am walking straight, ‘Muhammed replied.
It was quite clear that Muhammed could not tell that he had lost his balance. His father upon realising this, immediately took him to the nearest doctor where Muhammed began to exhibit more worrying signs, such as vomiting.
After being assessed, the family received the devastating news that Muhammed was diagnosed with a stage 4 brain tumour. At first he was admitted to the Complex hospital in Islamabad, however when his condition began to worsen, his family had no choice but to have him moved to CMH (Military Hospital). Doctors have informed the family of the cost of an operation, which amounts to an excess of £13000, a price that seems insurmountable for Muhammed’s family. Since his admission, they have struggled to pay for essential medical items. Although they are doing everything they possibly can to give Muhammed a fighting chance, their limited funds and struggle with poverty make it nearly impossible to provide their beloved Muhammed with the help he needs.
This is why I am appealing to you for your help. Your contribution will go a long way towards providing Muhammed with the medical attention he requires. You can help to return the happiness that once existed in Muhammed’s family.
