    Story

The North Down & Ards Down Syndrome Support Group is a self help group for people with Downs Syndrome and their families. Our primary goal is to connect people who have been there before with those who are unsure of what is to come or what to expect and assure and help them in any way possible. This includes the organisation of leaning experiences such as paddling pool sessions, makaton lessons, jo-jingles and soft play for the younger members and swim sessions, weekly drama, bowling and trips to the theater for the older ones. We also have an annual Christmas Party and summer outing both of which are attended by 80 to 120 people. We meet once a month for a chat and to agree what is coming up and will help anyone in our geographic area and slightly beyond. We are totally voluntary, have no overheads and all money raised will go into activities for the members.
