I've raised £1500 to provide students who come from underprivileged backgrounds at North Primary School in Southall with uniforms, books & food vouchers.

In 2015, I had the opportunity to volunteer with my former company during a circus skills workshop at London primary school whose students come from families with financial, social and domestic challenges. The day was overwhelmingly positive for both the volunteers and the students and the enthusiasm the students showed was infectious. I left that day wondering what more I could do to support these children.
I contacted the charity day organiser and asked how I could help. I came to understand that the students were in need of basic necessities that their parents and the school could not provide them - cardigans and jumpers to keep them warm as they played and learned, book bags and books to nourish their minds. With the help of some very generous friends and colleagues, I was able to raise funds to purchase items and deliver them to the school so that the students who were in the most need could have the items they needed to succeed and concentrate.
This was a quick-win for people who wanted to do good and the students who were in need. Whether they received shoes or a complete uniform or just a few extras to help them through the year, their needs, in a small way, were met.
Enter 2017 - a difficult and emotional year that I wanted to end positively. I remembered my experience at the primary school and sought to find another one I could support.
I asked for help sourcing the right school on social media and was contacted by a Family Support Officer and Pupil Welfare Lead at North Primary School saying her school was in need. Not only did many of its students come from disadvantaged backgrounds, but government funding for free uniforms had been cut. Additionally, a few of the school's families have been given deportation papers from the Home Office and are appealing but are not entitled for any funds.
I believe that all children are entitled to the opportunity to learn and grow without having to go without the items that help them flourish, whether it is food, a book that expands their mind or a proper school uniform. I am asking your help to help me raise funds for this special school so that official uniforms, vouchers to Sainsbury's and Tesco and books are purchased for the students at North Primary School who need them the most.
Please help us - any support would be greatly appreciated.
