Story

Hector and his 8 year old sister Florence have been so brave throughout this year of very intensive treatment, it’s been an emotional rollercoaster for us all and many night spent in several hospitals. Hector faces another 3 years of treatment but he is doing really well and has been the bravest boy throughout.

The staff at Addenbrookes and Jenny Lind Norwich Children’s hospital have been a huge support and we are so thankful to them. As a family we want to give something back to help other children and families when they have to go through the pain of having a poorly child staying in the Jenny Lind Norwich Hospital.

While the staff are amazing, the NHS budget does not allow for anything more than the essentials and so the rooms the children have to stay in are very basic.

As an interior Designer specialising in biophilic design we are aware of the importance of the environment and the

Impact it has on the children and parents health and well-being so we are aiming to raise as much money as possible to improve the children’s wards, room by room, and make them a happier place for children to stay.

Together as a family we are all taking on challenges throughout 2022 and we would be so grateful if you are able to spare any money to sponsor us in the hope we can transform as many rooms on the children’s wards as possible.

(We will be designing all rooms free of charge and also asking for the help of any suppliers who may be able to donate items to this cause)

If anyone would like to fundraise themselves on behalf of this cause then you are very welcome. Please get in Touch and we can add you to the supporters list.

A few of the challenges being undertaken this year include:

Florence and Hector biking the distance of Norwich to Addenbrookes, 69 miles on Marriotts Way

Florence is cutting off her hair for the little princess trust who make wigs for children with cancer

Mum Louise is undertaking the lake district 8 peaks challenge climbing 8 mountains in 12 hours with her cousin Sarah

Dad Matthew is carrying out a long distance cycle ride over 500 miles Norwich to Edinburgh with several friends

Grandma Sally is walking the Norfolk Coast, 80 miles in a week with friends

Uncle Pete is running the London Marathon in October

Heather Avenue School teachers are walking 26 miles in 7 hours on Marriotts Way

Thank you for all your support, we are so so grateful for your help with this fundraising and excited to raise money to help put smiles on the faces of children and make their lives that little bit better in what can be some dark times.

Thank you

Hector, Florence, Matthew and Louise x
